Abergavenny School Case Study
Room Sensors (Temperature & Humidity)
The Background
In 2024, Abergavenny School upgraded its environmental control systems by installing 96 Merlin RSTH and RSCO2TH sensors with BACnet communication. Whitehead Building Services completed the installation, enhancing the schoolʼs climate management through these advanced sensors.
The installation included a mix of sensor types: Merlin RSCO2TH sensors, which combine CO2, temperature, and humidity monitoring with an integrated screen for real-time data display, and Merlin RSTH sensors, which measure temperature and humidity and feature an LED display for clear, immediate indications.
By integrating these sensors with the schoolʼs Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system via BACnet, the school ensures precise control over indoor climate conditions. This upgrade supports Abergavenny School’s commitment to energy efficiency and a comfortable learning environment, showcasing a proactive approach to building management.
