Returns & Warranty Policy
S&S Northern limited manufacturer’s warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship to physical goods for a period of 3 years on control panels, detectors and 1 year on the Goldseal range on water valves and gas solenoid valves. This is to the original purchaser only and is valid from the date of dispatch. S&S shall repair or replace, at no charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper materials or workmanship, under appropriate use and in accordance with the Installation & Operation instructions. The warranty may not cover claims where physical goods have been.
- excessively damaged by accident either upon installation or during normal operation.
- used incorrectly or unreasonably resulting in what may be considered ‘extreme’ damage.
The warranty may not cover other causes not arising from defects with materials or workmanship and applies to all ancillary products such as optical sensors; pressure transmitters; gas valves, water valves and meters.
All returned goods must be clearly identified with supporting documentation detailing the basic following information: 1) Contact name;
2) Product details, quantities & serial numbers; 3) Description of the claim and any reported unusual operational behaviour and/or pictures to support claim and 4) Remedial action required. Any conflicting information will be resolved before any action is taken.
Actions and Definitions
- Repair as new: All returned goods that are covered by the warranty will be processed to an ‘as new’ condition fit for purpose and re-sale. A standard warranty period will apply as per terms within this policy.
- Refurbish: All returned goods that are covered by the warranty will be processed to a condition fit for purpose only and identified as such. Refurbished product warranties will be valid for the remainder of the original warranty period or for six months – whichever is the greatest.
- Report: An investigation will be conducted and sent to the originator including any supporting evidence only.
Credits & Exchanges
If goods are no longer required or deemed unsuitable for their intended purpose, a credit note, or exchange can be requested provided that the goods are unused. able to be resold; returned in their original packaging and seals intact – where applicable and contain all accessories and paperwork as per the original sale.
Warranty Charges
Any substantial conflict under this policy will be communicated at the time including costs (if any) involved to satisfy the remedial action requested. This information shall be reviewed by the originator prior to any further action. Typically, charges will be calculated at a percentage rate of the full product price whereas any original discount will not apply. All approved charges will be documented either electronically or physically for future reference.

Warranty coverage: The manufacturer warrants to the original consumer purchaser, that this product will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (#) years from date of purchase.
The manufacturer’s liability hereunder is limited to replacement of the product with repaired product at the discretion of the manufacturer. This warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, tampering or other causes not arising from defects in material or workmanship. This warranty extends to the original consumer purchaser of the product only.
Warranty disclaimers: Any implied warranties arising out of this sale, including but not limited to the implied warranties of description, merchantability and intended operational purpose, are limited in duration to the above warranty period. In no event shall the manufacturer be liable for loss of use of this product or for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, or costs, or expenses incurred by the consumer or any other user of this product, whether due to a breach of contract, negligence, strict liability in tort or otherwise. The manufacturer shall have no liability for any personal injury, property damage or any special, incidental, contingent or consequential damage of any kind resulting from gas leakage, water leakage, fire, or explosion. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights. Warranty Performance: During the above warranty period, your product will be replaced with a comparable product if the defective product is returned together with proof of purchase date. The replacement product will be in warranty for the remainder of the original warranty period or for six months – whichever is the greatest.
